Marketing & Retailing Dr.
Kalyanam has extensive expertise in Internet marketing and retailing. Internet
advertising, email marketing, multi channel marketing and Internet retailing are
all topics that he follows with great interest. His book, teaching and research
experience in these areas contribute to his expertise. |

Retailing
Dr.
Kalyanam has extensive teaching and research experience on the retail industry.
His teaching has focused on understanding the success of Wal*Mart, big box retailers
and mass discounters and strategies to differentiate against them. He tracks the
financial and marketing strategies of many leading retailers. He has also conducted
research on the practice of category management, retail analytics and data driven
decision support models for retail pricing, promotion and assortment optimization.

Damage
Estimation Using Transaction Databases and Surveys Dr.
Kalyanam has worked with the standardized scanner panel data sets supplied by
Nielsen and IRI modeling sales response to marketing variables such as price and
promotion. He has also worked with store level data sets obtained from apparel
and specialty retailers for assortment optimization models. His recent modeling
has focused on multi channel database models and modeling the efficiency of Internet
advertising. Previous work has included damage estimation and assessment using
various types of data. |
