L. Garvey Education Ph.D. in Economics, Princeton UniversityM.A. in Economics, Princeton University B.A. in Economics, Northwestern University Profile Professor Garvey teaches courses in microeconomics, public economics, and poverty and public policy. Her research interests lie at the intersection of labor and public economics, with a particular emphasis in two areas: the economic assimilation of immigrants to the United States and the impact of K-12 education finance schemes on the level and distribution of school spending. She has published articles in a number of edited volumes and monographs, most recently in the "The Immigration Debate: Studies on the Economic, Demographic and Fiscal Effects of Immigration" (National Academy Press). As a result of exogamy, Professor Garvey speaks fluent French. |
