Admissions : Saturday Option

*Interviews for Saturday Option Fall 2005 will be conducted between February 2005 and June 1, 2005. Interviews must be completed by the June 1, 2005 application deadline. To schedule your Interview, please e-mail mbaadmissions@scu.edu.

Beginning in January 2002, Santa Clara University introduced an opportunity to complete our MBA degree exclusively on Saturdays.

We understand that, for many people, attending classes in the evening is not a viable alternative. The new Saturday option will allow completion of our nationally ranked part-time MBA program by attending classes in the morning and early afternoon on Saturdays.

Maximum Flexibility
The Saturday option is a fully integrated part of our evening MBA program. The same faculty who teach in the evening program will staff the Saturday option, the AACSB accredited curriculum will be the same, and the standards and requirements will be identical. In fact, a student in the Saturday option can choose to take evening classes at any time, giving maximum flexibility in working toward the degree.

Class Schedule
Classes will meet ten Saturdays a quarter from 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Courses will be scheduled year round, in all four quarters. By taking two courses per quarter, all on Saturday, the MBA will be completed in less than three years. The option is available to take one course at a time or accelerate by taking additional courses in the evening. It's all about options.

Application Procedures
The application procedures for the Saturday option are the same as those for the evening program. However, because of the small size (roughly 50 students per year) and cohort style of the Saturday MBA option, we require an Admissions Interview as part of the formal admissions process. These interviews will take place beginning in February 2005 and can be conducted at any point during the preparation of your application. You do not need to wait to schedule the interview until you have submitted your application, it can be conducted at any time. However, the interview must be conducted prior to the June 1, 2005 deadline. To schedule your Interview, please e-mail mbaadmissions@scu.edu.

Because of the popularity of our Saturday option, there will not always be space available for all qualified candidates. Once all the slots have been filled, we will give qualified applicants the opportunity to enter the evening program.

Applications for the Saturday option may be submitted for the Fall term only.

Final Decisions
To make a final admissions decision, we will need official transcripts of your previous college work, your Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) results from ETS, a completed application, essay responses, two letters of recommendation, and an interview. However, we can make a tentative decision based on unofficial records. The deadline for Fall 2005 admission is June 1, 2005.
